Where is Barwon Heads?
Barwon Heads is located at the mouth of the Barwon River on the Bellarine Peninsula, 22 kilometres south-east of the city of Geelong. Barwon Heads, and its twin town of Ocean Grove just on the other side of the Barwon River, are both very popular coastal resorts offering surf beaches fronting Bass Strait and calm waters around the river mouth. Spectacular views of the area can be enjoyed from The Bluff Lookout at Point Flinders. Just north of Barwon Heads is Lake Connewarre, which is a great spot for fishing and bird watching.
